2021 In Memoriam – Madeleine Pennoyer

Madeleine Pennoyer passed away at the age of 97 in June of 2021. She was a longtime BCCWNC member and enjoyed showing her many British sports cars.

Madeleine was born and brought up in Eastbourne, Sussex, England. During the war she volunteered in the Forces Canteen and Land Army. Over the years she lived in France, Hungary, Turkey, Canada and Scotland. 

She was a keen tennis player. She won many ribbons with her horse and carriage in Combined Driving Events all over New England. She gave obedience classes for dogs and in Florida was in a program training Dogs For The Deaf. She volunteered in Habitat for Humanity where an all woman team built a house. One of her hobbies was making stained glass.

She was married to Captain Frederick W. Pennoyer for 52 years. He passed away in 2014. She leaves a son, granddaughter, a great granddaughter and a dear friend, Rosalind, who lives in Eastbourne, Sussex, England.
