Monday May 15. As of 3:35 on Sunday afternoon this is ON.

– RAIN DATE Friday MAY 19.

Following a call from the Mayor of Fletcher, I was contacted by Loretta Faircloth, Community Life Director, Universal Healthcare of Fletcher.

They would like to celebrate National Nursing Home Week and we’ve been asked to bring 10-15 cars from the 50’s, 60’s 70’s era for a patients event on the afternoon of Monday, May 15. (Rain date is Friday May 19) – Suggest you/we meetup at 11:45am at Ingles, go straight across 25 and all arrive together at noon. I think this will wrap up well before 4:00pm – DW

Here’s the highlights from of an Email from Loretta:

  • We will block off the back parking lot for you all.
  • We are inviting the Mayor that day to read a proclamation for the beginning of National Healthcare Week.
  • Planning on asking the Fletcher Police and Fire Department to come that day at “noon” for a Cookout Hot Dogs and Hamburgers.
  • If you give me a count of folks coming you guys can eat with us also. Everything will be outside. Our Staff will also be eating with you guys.
  • Residents will come out after and look at the Cars around 1:30. That’s why there is such a strange block of time.
  • I thought the fireman/policeman and staff would enjoy the Cars as well.
  • We have room for 10/15 Cars max. Safely parked apart so residents can see in them.
  • I am hoping Monday May 15 works out but if not Friday May 19 is the rain date.

I need to get back to Loretta ASAP and confirm we are on.
Please REGISTER below as 1 SPACE if you can commit. I’ll be tracking cars, not people.
Registration will shut down as soon as it hits 15.
Thanks
David W.
