Steve & Toni's Progressive Drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway
Sat. August 27th

Although it was a warm day, the cars were nestled under the cool shade of the trees along Furman's mall. It's an absolutely beautiful setting. Triumph was the featured marque and Teresa Farver's Triumph Stag made its first car show and came home with a trophy. The cars on display included some very unusual entries, a Hillman Imp and a 1935 Railton.
The Greenville Highlands games are also part of the fun with clan after clan of Scottish descendants including our own Jack Grant. There were men in kilts playing bagpipes, tossing cabers (150 lb. tree trunks) and demonstrations of border collies herding sheep. A fun afternoon.
Reported by Gene & Carole Carter / Thanks!

The club met near Biltmore Square Mall on a beautiful, sunny spring day. According to Gene Carter we had 12 cars and about 22 people. Gene and Steve were excellent cruise directors. Photos by Carole Carter and Jon Riley.

We proceeded to the Blue Ridge Parkway and motored north to Rt. 74,then across the mountain on Pinner's Cove Rd. and finally to Troyer's Family Farm on Old Fort Road. Staying together is always a challenge.
Troyer's provided our own grassy parking area and a very good lunch on a breezy porch.
After lunch and a chat, we then motored to Highland Brewing Company where Grant DeSantos provided an excellent brewery tour and samples of several of their excellent products. A refreshing time was had by all!
Thank you Grant and Highland Brewing!
