January 23, 2018 – Joint Drive with FBCC Fourth Annual Polar Bear Run – (new date, please check your RSVP on Meetup) Get out your wooly underwear and blankets as BCCWNC will join Foothills BCC for their Fourth Annual Polar Bear Run. If you drive a roadster or a drophead coupe and don’t put your top down, shame on you, but all vehicles are welcome! Visitors welcome too! Meeting Time: 10:45 am at the Ingles Market in Mills River. Departure 11:15 am with Lunch at approximately 12:30 pm at the Village Café & Pub, 2770 Greenville Highway, Flat Rock, NC 28731
Saturday February 10th – Annual Valentine Pot Luck and Wine Tasting
Members and guests of members only. Everyone bring a food dish to share and a favorite wine or other drink. The hostess requests all paticipants to please wear red and/or white and/or pink. Party starts at 6pm, details on Meetup, please RSVP by February 7 so the hosts have a headcount.
May 5-6, 2018 – “Synchro de Mayo!”
Day One Saturday will engage a 3-hour 9:00am – 12:00pm joint-club drive with the Foothills British Car Club that will end at the Bold Rock Brewery in Mills River for a fun-filled “Synchro de Mayo” celebration. Live music, cold cider, a laid-back/non-awards car show, BBQ and more! Day Two will see a later start with a one-hour drive to the Burntshirt Winery for an afternoon of wine tasting, live music, winery tour and picnic fun. We’ve secured $99/night rooms at the Clarion Hotel (Fletcher, NC) for anyone that wants to stay over Friday and/or Saturday night. Club members, please RSVP on Meetup.
Friday, June 22, 2018 – “The First Day of Summer!” Jeanne and John Condren will host a “First Day of Summer Celebration BBQ” at their home. This will be a BYOM barbeque. (That’s “Bring Your Own Meat” … and buns if you’re doing burgers or dogs, or BYO fish or chicken, or BYO whatever you’re eating.) We’ll supply the drinks and all the “other” stuff that goes into a nice afternoon-evening get together. 3:00pm (or whenever you get here) until 9:00pm. Come in your British car and avoid having to park at the bottom of the driveway. British car parking only on top (parking for 30 cars, easily). If you’re on the bottom of the driveway, we’ll run people up and down in the 4X4 Ranger. The party will be on the deck outdoors or inside if it rains. Kids and families welcome! Saturday, July 7, 2018 – Annual Troyer Drive and lunch event. Details to follow. Historically a 1-1/2 hour drive around our scenic vistas, ending at Troyer’s Amish Store for lunch, then on to a member’s home for a garden tour and dessert. Details on Meetup as they are finalized.
Saturday, July 21, 2018 – “Yaller Cathouse” Run and Lunch
Depart at 10:00AM for a 30 mile leisurely drive to Brevard with a rest stop at Ingles in Etowah on Rt 64. Then 30 miles south to Cedar Mountain, back through DuPont Forest to Little River to Flat Rock. Lunch at Kevin & Pat’s – BYOB and dessert. RSVP on Meetup.
