Many thanks for a really cracking event, with a fine route planned by John Condren. The route took our cars out to east Henderson county, down winding roads with checkpoints along the way to get cards. Best poker hands at the winery received bottles of wine. First place John and Gail Rachow, second place Mark and Teresa Farver, third place Ed and Vickie Foster. Thank you to John Condren, Terry Ramsey, Mitch Andrus, and Mark Farver for photos.
Friday night, July 21st, a few cars gathered for Music on Main. Thank you to John Condren and Mitch Andrus for photos.
Escaping the heat in the valleys, BCC members took a drive up twisty Hwy 151 to the Blue Ridge Parkway, returning down 276 through Pisgah Forest. The route was excellently planned and led by Bruce Austin. Thank you to George deWalder, Terry Ramsey, and Carole Carter for photos.
Hosted by our nonagenarian member Madeleine, a short drive ending with lunch at Kenmure on Saturday, July 1.
Dodging the rain on June 24th, the BCC club members met at a parking lot in Fletcher for the annual Troyer Drive led by Steve Miller. After a brisk, hour long drive, we arrived at Troyer’s Amish Farm for lunch in their newly constructed pavilion, serenaded by live music. Then a short drive to Terry and Mary Alice Ramsey’s home for dessert and to tour the lovely gardens. Mary Alice baked her heart out, offering three fresh homemade cakes! Thanks to Judith Robertson for her lovely watermelon salad. Thank you to Toni Tocco, Terry Ramsey, Joyce Young, and Alvan Judson for great photos of the event.
